DEEP CASE STUDIES
I'm Paulami - a product designer who listens first, questions deeply, and builds solutions that hold up against real complexity. From enterprise systems to design components, I turn ambiguity into clarity and clarity into impact.

Rethinking Alert Banners
Outcome-led From inconsistent, fatigue-inducing notifications to a semantically structured, accessibility-first alert system — governing how the City of Calgary communicates urgency across every digital touchpoint.
WORKING METHOD
AI DOESN'T
REPLACE THE
thinking.
I use AI as a thinking partner - not a shortcut. The judgement, the empathy, the strategic framing: - that's still mine. What AI changes is the speed at which I can go deep, surface patterns, and pressure- test ideas before they become assumptions baked into wireframes.
01
Research Synthesis
I feed raw interview notes, survey responses and session transcripts into AI tools to identify patterns I may miss at scale. What used to take days of affinity mapping now surfaces in hours - letting me spend more time with the insights, not the sorting.

Ideation & Concept
I use AI to stress-test my problem framing and generate unexpected directions. It's like having a tireless collaborator who never gets anchored to the first idea - which keeps me honest and my concepts sharper.

UX Writing & Copy
Microcopy, onboarding flows, content generation - I use AI to draft at velocity, then edit for voice, clarity and human nuance. The result: copy that's been pressure-tested against dozens of variations before it ever reaches a stakeholder review.

AI-AUGMENTED, HUMAN-DIRECTED
Every AI output in my workflow is a starting point, not a finish line. My role is to ring the context, the constraints and the critical eye that no model can replicate.

My design principle is grounded in a simple conviction: you can't design the right solution until you truly understand the problem. That means listening longer, questioning deeper and resisting the urge to jump to screens before the problem is clear.
I hold a UX/UI Specialization from CalArts, a certified Scrum Master credential, and a Product Management diploma from SAIT. But my real education has come from the field - navigating ambiguity in enterprise environments, building trust with stakeholders who don't speak "design", and shipping work that actually changes how people spend their day.
Whether I'm embedded in a large organization or a startup, I bring the same thing: the strategic thinking, deep empathy, and a bias toward work that creates a lasting value - not just a polished handoff.

WHAT I BRING TO EVERY ENGAGEMENT
Curiosity that goes beyond the brief. I ask the uncomfortable questions - because that's usually where the real problem lives.
HOW I WORK WITH TEAMS
I take everyone on the journey behind the solution. When your team understands the "why", they build better and advocate harder.
MY MEASURE OF SUCCESS
Not a polished prototype - but a meaningful change in how someone experiences their work or their day.
LET'S
TALK.
Have a complex problem that needs a human-centerd lens? I would love to hear about it.
